Week 4 - Day 2

HAPPY FAT TUESDAY EVERYONE!!!!

For those of you who don't know what Fat Tuesday is, it is the day where we get to eat Paczkis! Pronounced "Ponch-Key", they are a Polish pastry doughnut with different fillings... lemon, prune, apple, custard, etc. This is a HUGE thing in the Metro-Detroit area.

Now, we all know doughnuts and pastries of the sort are NOT the healthiest thing for you. But I am a firm believer in you can eat whatever you want and still lose weight and/or maintain, within reason. Seeing as Fat Tuesday comes once a year, I opted to have a paczki today. Of course, since I knew I was having this sugar loaded, carboriffic, fattening treat... I was more strict with the rest of my meals (See the What's On the Menu for today). I don't feel guilty, I feel smart and still very much in control of what foods go in my mouth as well as proud because I am able to recognize what I can and can't eat based on my meal choices. Plus, I still have three work out days ahead of me for the week... :)
