Week 1 - Day 1

So today was the first day of my 12 week self-designed program and oh... my... goodness... it felt GREAT! I was so absolutely excited!

The whole day started out early, 9:30am. I started out, weighing in to see where my starting weight was. To my surprise, I have lost 4.3lbs since I weighed in at my doctor's appointment on Wednesday!!! I've been healthier choices since last week when I started the blog so it was definitely a pleasant surprise to see that I had lost that much weight but just making healthier food choices! :) It made me just want to keep doing what I'm doing even more. It was an amazing feeling seeing the weight loss. But the day wasn't over...

I went to the gym today for the first time. The best thing about it was that my best friend, Lori, went with me and she signed up with Planet Fitness, too! It was so wonderful to have my best friend there to support me and to help me reach my goal. The goal was to work out for an hour, but truth be told... I think I didn't realize just how hard that would be. I started out on the elliptical and after about 5 minutes, I started getting really winded. It was embarrassing and shameful to be honest. But I stuck it out for 10 minutes. Lesson learned-do not start out on the elliptical.

After nearly killing myself on the Elliptical, I moved on to the bike. Next time, I think I will start out with the bike because I felt so much better on the bike and it is such low impact. I did about 20 minutes on the bike.

Lastly, I ended out on this arch swaying thingy that like... REALLY worked out my butt. I definitely liked that! After about 10 minutes on that, I called it a day. I decided that even though I didn't make my hour goal, I decided that doing what I did was a lot more than I have been doing - which is nothing - and to me, that was good.

So to summarize:
Elliptical - 5 minutes + 2 minute cool down
Bike - 17 minutes + 3 minute cool down
Archy Swaying Thingy - 8 minute + 2 minute cool down

One day down, 6 more days to go in this week! :)
